Su Liang Kun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Chabier, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Su Liang Kun, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th minute, Lars Meesters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Su Liang Kun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Cutberto in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was a well-played corner which Lars Meesters managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reynaldo Quinito to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Cutberto came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Su Liang Kun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Su Liang Kun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Su Liang Kun having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Wim Wilmes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Su Liang Kun was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. 94 minutes into the game, Matías Zaracho threw the ball into play from the sideline. Netherlands's David Eikelkamp quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
