Nilton Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Raul Caetano got a free kick in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Ȓᾄvἔᾗṩ Ғ.Ƈ.'s Nilton Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Moreira in the 74th minute of play. Bartolomeu Dias might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nilton Lira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bartolomeu Dias ran back to his position shaking his head. Ȓᾄvἔᾗṩ Ғ.Ƈ.'s Hortêncio Montenegro was substituted for Adrián Czornomaz. If Hortêncio Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Mikolas in the 84th minute of play.
