When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Zaccheo Andolina put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Onur-Recep Kıvrak. Flavio Vittori didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ali Gültiken went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Italy made a substitution. Flavio Vittori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Italy were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
