Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 4th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Frenkie de Jong ran over to the corner to take the kick. Netherlands's Marinus Doren was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Joonatan De Vlaeminck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frenkie de Jong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joonatan De Vlaeminck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frenkie de Jong's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Jordi Van Bever kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frenkie de Jong in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joonatan De Vlaeminck saved Belgium from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Guus Harmsen came free, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guus Harmsen in the 24th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Joonatan De Vlaeminck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Wesly Van Der Straeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadej Pogačar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Guus Harmsen came free, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frenkie de Jong scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joonatan De Vlaeminck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Jordi Van Bever in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Netherlands's Corné van Basten. Corné van Basten made in the 35th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Belgium's Jordi Van Bever. Joonatan De Vlaeminck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guus Harmsen went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Wesly Van Der Straeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadej Pogačar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wesly Van Der Straeten ran back to his position shaking his head. Tadej Pogačar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesly Van Der Straeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jordi Van Bever to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cedrik Langendonckx during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Netherlands made a substitution. Nick Heesen replaced Frenkie de Jong. 45 minutes into the game, one of Belgium:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 49th minute there was a penalty for Netherlands. Guus Heijen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Joonatan De Vlaeminck. 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Guus Harmsen made the kick off in the second half. Joonatan De Vlaeminck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nick Heesen, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute, Nick Heesen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tadej Pogačar came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Belgium's Wesly Van Der Straeten. But to his dismay, Wesly Van Der Straeten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Cedrik Langendonckx hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Netherlands's Nick Heesen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. When Netherlands's Nick Heesen in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Belgium's goalie prevented a goal. Tadej Pogačar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesly Van Der Straeten in the 66th minute of play. Tadej Pogačar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesly Van Der Straeten in the 66th minute of the match. Tadej Pogačar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wesly Van Der Straeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Belgium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordi Van Bever didn't get a good kick on the ball. Netherlands's Guus Harmsen got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joonatan De Vlaeminck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marinus Doren in the 75th minute of play. After 76 played minutes Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Luka Sielis. When Nick Heesen came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nick Heesen couldn't finish the play. When Netherlands's Nick Heesen in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Belgium's goalie prevented a goal. Netherlands's Marco Hegeman was substituted for Robin Boelens. In the 84th minute, Cedrik Langendonckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 86 played minutes Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Dieter Hollants. After 87 minutes of play, Netherlands's Nick Heesen made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joonatan De Vlaeminck was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joonatan De Vlaeminck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nick Heesen in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Wesly Van Der Straeten notched a goal, 2-5, to the right of Netherlands's Tadej Pogačar. Tadej Pogačar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
