The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th minute, Afiq Hsi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Czech Republic's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Dostal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ali Ramachandran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd minute, Erik Jilek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ali Ramachandran was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Afriz Hian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Steven Lum hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Ali Ramachandran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Rezek in the 32nd minute of the match. Albirex Niigata FC's Ali Ramachandran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Jilek in the 45th minute of play.
