In the 24th minute Andries De Putter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silviu Filip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, AFC United's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Messi came free, but Lei Bin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lei Bin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Telmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sansone Poso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lei Bin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Gustavo Gomez threw the ball into play from the sideline. AFC United's Peru Diaz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldo Messi in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lei Bin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 38 minutes, Aquiles Telmo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. America De Cali's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aquiles Telmo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silviu Filip came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by AFC United's Andries De Putter. But to his dismay, Andries De Putter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Jordi Scherz hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see America De Cali's Aquiles Telmo in action when he in the 46th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldo Messi was the one to do the kick off. AFC United's attentive Patricio Caminero managed to snatch the ball when Kai-Christian Maletz made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. Silviu Filip didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andries De Putter went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 59th minute, AFC United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ronaldo Messi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, AFC United's Uxio Sobrado got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Silviu Filip showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andries De Putter in the 65th minute of the match. If Sansone Poso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AFC United made a substitution. Faustino Asprilla replaced Andries De Putter. In the 73rd minute, Sansone Poso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faustino Asprilla might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silviu Filip. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faustino Asprilla ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd minute, Sansone Poso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lei Bin was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. America De Cali's Marquez Lando was substituted for Gustavo Gomez. In the 87th minute Sansone Poso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lei Bin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute Faustino Asprilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silviu Filip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lei Bin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sansone Poso in the 94th minute of play. Many of America De Cali's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. America De Cali may have spent more time on the ball, but AFC United were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
