Zigor Abeita hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Geronimo Rulli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 4th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by 程烨瑜 in the 8th minute. Internacional's Geronimo Rulli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Internacional's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After 11 minutes, Bas Tuitert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Netherlands and the Internacional players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Bas Tuitert got a free kick in the 11th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Internacional's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Geronimo Rulli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Internacional's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The audience was convinced that Laércio de Andrade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. After some careless play in the Internacional defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geronimo Rulli. The Internacional fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geronimo Rulli should have stopped the shot. 28 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Geronimo Rulli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 32nd minute of play forced Internacional's goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio de Andrade came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Internacional's 程烨瑜. But to his dismay, 程烨瑜 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Geronimo Rulli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 程烨瑜 to make the kick off. Geronimo Rulli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 59th minute of play. After some careless play in the Internacional defense, Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geronimo Rulli. The Internacional fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geronimo Rulli should have stopped the shot. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laércio de Andrade in the 64th minute of the match. Internacional made a substitution. Ege Deniz replaced Rafael Abarca. A collision led to Internacional getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Israel Aballe hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the game, Pablo-Enrique Abeijon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Internacional's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. After 67 played minutes Internacional got a freekick which was hit by Pablo-Enrique Abeijon. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Internacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ege Deniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Eikelkamp to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Laércio de Andrade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Israel Aballe's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Israel Aballe helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Internacional's Israel Aballe got a free kick in the 85th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Wim Wilmes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Geronimo Rulli. That made the score 2-5 in the 87 minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Geronimo Rulli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio de Andrade in the 94th minute of play. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
