Lionel Paly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 12 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Lionel Paly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 22nd minute of play. Belgium's Casper Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Belgium from getting a goal against them. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lionel Paly having to make a save. Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pirmin Jäggi in the 33rd minute. Casper Claes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pirmin Jäggi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 34 minute of play. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 36th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pirmin Jäggi got free with Casper Claes in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute Belgium were awarded a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten went to the cornerflag to take it. Guillaume Bonte hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 65thth minute of the game Tory Pryor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgium's Casper Claes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lionel Paly made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 67th minute. Yves Dervaux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lionel Paly read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Lionel Paly made a huge save. Lionel Paly made an important save on a dangerous shot by Siebe Michiels in the 76th minute. Edward Vanderstraeten scored 2-3 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lionel Paly, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
