Tartalo Delatorre came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo ScrugenFC's Zoil Pequeño. But to his dismay, Zoil Pequeño quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Atlético Grau Piura's Tartalo Delatorre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zoil Pequeño in the 32nd minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Zoil Pequeño had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tartalo Delatorre. Atlético Grau Piura's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zoil Pequeño was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After a rather tough play, Atlético Grau Piura's Federico Moura got a free kick in the 36th minute.

Bjørn Ironside's late challenge caught a Atlético Grau Piura's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Deportivo ScrugenFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fortun Bobes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leobardo Padierna in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tartalo Delatorre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo ScrugenFC's zone, Junior Quintana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose Boldu came out of the goal and Junior Quintana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atlético Grau Piura's Milio Izaga was substituted for Francisco Conceicão. After 93 minutes, Ihintza Lumbreras mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Grau Piura and the Deportivo ScrugenFC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
