Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iraido Bertiz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After some careless play in the Fohat Neyen defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iraido Bertiz. The Fohat Neyen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iraido Bertiz should have stopped the shot. After 21 minutes of play, Fohat Neyen's Fabrizio Cauli made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Netherlands booed when Fohat Neyen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damon Haslem didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Fabrizio Cauli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Fabrizio Cauli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Schnell. Denis Schnell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. Damon Haslem charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damon Haslem the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Fohat Neyen got a freekick which was hit by Damon Haslem. Iraido Bertiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Fohat Neyen getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Clemente Tome hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Iruinea Llordes made the kick off in the second half. Iraido Bertiz made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Fohat Neyen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billie Keuppens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iraido Bertiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fohat Neyen's Iraido Bertiz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Fohat Neyen from getting a goal against them. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iruinea Llordes in the 64th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 68th minute, which Iraido Bertiz however easily saved by the left post. In the 72nd minute, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Iraido Bertiz. Iraido Bertiz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Iraido Bertiz to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Lars Meesters got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 84th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Fohat Neyen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Iruinea Llordes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. In the 90th match minute, Fohat Neyen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Tome to maneuver through the defense. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Iraido Bertiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 95th minute of play forced Fohat Neyen's goalkeeper Iraido Bertiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
