If Samuele Kunz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ezequiel Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hias Nüssli having to interfere. Samuele Kunz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Dantas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Alexsandro de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dida Dantas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuele Kunz in the 32nd minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Samuele Kunz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Switzerland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Eriberto Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eriberto Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eriberto Fonseca hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the match, Proteu's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Maurer came free, but Dida Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hias Nüssli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexsandro de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 49 minutes, Rodrigo von Känel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Switzerland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo von Känel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ezequiel Tasso to make the kick off. After having played for 63 minutes, Samuele Kunz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Switzerland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuele Kunz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute, Samuele Kunz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 78 minutes of play Proteu's Eriberto Fonseca was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Proteu getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Eriberto Fonseca hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Maurer in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Dantas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 80 minutes into the game, Ronaldinho Ramos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Proteu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Switzerland the free kick. After 81 played minutes Proteu got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho Ramos. In the 83rd minute Jacinto Maurer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Proteu's goalkeeper Dida Dantas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuele Kunz. Switzerland's Rodrigo von Känel got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
