Gustavo Gustavson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Hugo Favoretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Ramalho having to interfere. With a little luck, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Ivo Ramalho got control of the ball when Hugo Favoretto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivo Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Terra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudinho Terra in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivo Ramalho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute Guilherme Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Gustavson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Gustavo-Hernán Cadelo managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Joinville - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo-Hernán Cadelo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivo Ramalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cesinha Vieira's late challenge caught a New Joinville - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesinha Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinho Terra made a kick off. Ivo Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Terra in the 52nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Imbituba - FSCMZ defense, Gustavo-Hernán Cadelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivo Ramalho. The Imbituba - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivo Ramalho should have stopped the shot. Xande Koeman charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xande Koeman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Xande Koeman hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Xande Koeman got his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute. The referee ordered Xande Koeman off the ground. After 61 played minutes New Joinville - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Xande Koeman. New Joinville - FSCMZ made a substitution. Marcel Goiano replaced Armando Massa. When Júnior Mattos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. In the 94th minute, Júnior Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to New Joinville - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Guga Velasco hit a great ball.

When the final whistle went the supporters of Imbituba - FSCMZ were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant New Joinville - FSCMZ side.
