In the 18th minute Svend Betz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Svend Betz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabian Söderström having to make a save. Fabian Söderström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svend Betz in the 21st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Remy Van Eyken's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ye Wei was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Svend Betz took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabian Söderström. Fabian Söderström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Haithabu FC's Fabian Söderström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svend Betz in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Remy Van Eyken was the one to do the kick off. Fabian Söderström made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Svend Betz sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Svend Betz got free with Fabian Söderström in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FSX UNITED made a substitution. Marcelo Salas replaced Mircea Popilean. FSX UNITED's Amancio Baesler was substituted for Svend Betz. A hard shot 66 in the game by Amancio Baesler from a close distance when the talented Fabian Söderström managed to make a qualified save. Haithabu FC's players were relieved. In the 67th minute, Thomas Cochrane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haithabu FC made a substitution. Rigoberto Piearres replaced Remy Van Eyken. After 69 played minutes FSX UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Cochrane. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind FSX UNITED's goalkeeper Ye Wei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabian Söderström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Baesler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to FSX UNITED getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Tancredo Landon hit a great ball. After 77 played minutes FSX UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Tancredo Landon. Fabian Söderström made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Víctor Javier Ebensperger sent off a good shot on target. Fabian Söderström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Salas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Haithabu FC defense, Thomas Cochrane kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabian Söderström. The Haithabu FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabian Söderström should have stopped the shot. Haithabu FC made a substitution. Gervasio Albonico replaced Kurt Slaghmeulders. 93 minutes into the match, Thomas Cochrane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabian Söderström. Haithabu FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Cochrane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Tancredo Landon hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.

The Haithabu FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FSX UNITED were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
