Emanuel Ogășanu came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Casper Claes could save by the left post. Belgium's Casper Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Belgium from getting a goal against them. Emanuel Ogășanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casper Claes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Önder Cebi in the 21st minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sebastian Titz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Ogășanu made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Belgium's zone, Emanuel Ogășanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casper Claes came out of the goal and Emanuel Ogășanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edward Vanderstraeten came free with the goalkeeper in the 59th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sebastian Titz could save by the left post. 60 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casper Claes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A well-hit corner resulted in Ludwig Hanstein heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 66th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sebastian Titz. The goal made the score 0-3. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emanuel Ogășanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casper Claes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd minute of the match Sydney FC got a corner. Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ferdinand Mendy ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Emanuel Ogășanu to score against Casper Claes in Belgium's goal. 1-3 after 83 minutes. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute Belgium were awarded a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten went to the cornerflag to take it. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Belgium supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Belgium would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
