In the 27th minute Siricio Liotta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Sansone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AQUILES's Juninho Juni was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Flavio Vittori in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After the first half Italy were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game was made by Roman Josi with Roberto Eutor as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Higinio Sansone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Cutri. AQUILES's Ariel Honrio was substituted for Augustinas Gavorskis. AQUILES made a substitution. Isidoro Erroman replaced Frank Tassotti. Eliseo Cutri kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. A collision led to AQUILES getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Roberto Eutor hit a great ball. AQUILES's Higinio Sansone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 77th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ariel Honrio in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Vittori prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the match, Ariel Honrio notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Italy's Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. Higinio Sansone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adriano Curto's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ariel Honrio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th play minute Guiscardo Davide came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Higinio Sansone. 2-2.
