Esteve Barto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Leo Asteri firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lautaro Martinez scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristian Mateo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leo Asteri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteve Barto in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Fleetwood Town's Bob Geldof ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leo Asteri. Leo Asteri yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. A collision led to La Scaloneta getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Lionel Messi hit a great ball. Leo Asteri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pisut Maa in the 34th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Fleetwood Town's goal looked a bit too open when Lionel Messi came free, but Cristian Mateo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 51st minute Giovani Lo Celso suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Pisut Maa fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fleetwood Town's protests and gave Pisut Maa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd match minute, Fleetwood Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pisut Maa to maneuver through the defense. In the 53rd minute Lionel Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Mateo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. La Scaloneta's Leo Asteri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oğuzer Saye in the 59th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Fleetwood Town's Manos Natsis got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute Pisut Maa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Asteri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Mateo made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Leandro Paredes sent off a good shot on target. 76 minutes into the match, Lautaro Martinez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristian Mateo. Fleetwood Town's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Martinez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 80th minute, Astor Garoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Fleetwood Town's Astor Garoa got a free kick in the 81st minute. Leo Asteri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmelo Paio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's goal looked a bit too open when Esteve Barto came free, but Leo Asteri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Prudencio Hartz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Fleetwood Town's Carmelo Paio got a free kick in the 94th minute. The score was 2-2 after 90 minutes, which forced the match into extra-time.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Oğuzer Saye in Fleetwood Town was the one to initiate the kick off. Esteve Barto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 101st minute of the match, but Leo Asteri made a huge save. 105 minutes into the game, Fleetwood Town's Pisut Maa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leo Asteri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fleetwood Town fully deserved thier win.
