Dudu de Toledo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After some careless play in the Scarlet Speedster defense, Váldson Mazza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dudu de Toledo. The Scarlet Speedster fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dudu de Toledo should have stopped the shot. In the 35th match minute, Classe A Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Váldson Mazza to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute of the match Lino Paiva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wiliam Favoretto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Wiliam Favoretto was a little too slow when Jorginho Peres got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 2-2. After 43 played minutes Classe A Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Pernambucano. Kléber Pernambucano's late challenge caught a Scarlet Speedster's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kléber Pernambucano helped the player get up and apologised. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laerte Fernandes to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Scarlet Speedster got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Nascimento. Wiliam Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Toledo in the 88th minute of the match.
