The referee ignored FC Unterrudling's protests and gave Heinz-Dieter Degner a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Unterrudling's Heinz-Dieter Degner got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th match minute, Pabing SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Traintinger to maneuver through the defense. After 5 played minutes, FC Unterrudling's Pierre-André Bakker shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joel Breitenbach came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Unterrudling reached it. Frederik Jelden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Wilhelm Gooß made a huge save. Wilhelm Gooß made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Uwe Kulovitz in the 12th minute of play. Joel Breitenbach came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Unterrudling's Ingo Kuster. But to his dismay, Ingo Kuster quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. FC Unterrudling's Wilhelm Gooß proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save FC Unterrudling from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the match, FC Unterrudling's goalkeeper Wilhelm Gooß had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Heiko Arslan. After a defensive mix-up in Pabing SV's zone, Ingo Kuster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Breitenbach came out of the goal and Ingo Kuster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute Frederik Jelden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilhelm Gooß saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute Arjen Robben shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Breitenbach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Unterrudling getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Ingo Kuster hit a great ball. Joel Breitenbach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arjen Robben in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Benjamin Prinz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dominic-Simon Nikolic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Heiko Arslan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pabing SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Heiko Arslan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilhelm Gooß breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Heiko Arslan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, Pabing SV's Heiko Arslan made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilhelm Gooß was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Arjen Robben's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Breitenbach was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. In the 58th match minute, FC Unterrudling was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arjen Robben to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 63 in the game by Arjen Robben from a close distance when the talented Joel Breitenbach managed to make a qualified save. Pabing SV's players were relieved.
