Arthur Hengemühl was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Clemente Benvido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stian Aarflot, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Canalla Fuego's Clemente Benvido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jochen Schaer in the 21st minute of play. Clemente Benvido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stian Aarflot in the 23rd minute of the match. Ron Migneault's late challenge caught a Canalla Fuego's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ron Migneault helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th match minute, Tarada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Migneault to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Aimar to make the kick off.
