With an all-out effort, Tarada's Karl Pilgren threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Serge Jeanneret, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Jenipapo SC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Vinicio Junior hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Adam Wielowiejski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl Pilgren was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. The Tarada fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Tarada's Adam Wielowiejski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tarada's zone, Ricardinho Pena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrick Zeier came out of the goal and Ricardinho Pena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Vinicio Junior had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jenipapo SC!

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adam Wielowiejski to make the kick off. Karl Pilgren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
