SK Fenerbahce Wien's Olaf Anszczak started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. SK Fenerbahce Wien's Ali Kaan Toydemir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camille Baume in the 4th minute of play. With his leg Maxime Durand managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when SK Fenerbahce Wien's Alexandros Matsinopoulos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Peletier in the 10th minute of play forced SK Fenerbahce Wien's goalkeeper Ali Kaan Toydemir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maxence Durand lost his temper 14 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 13th minute, one of France:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for France. Maxime Durand went to the wrong direction when Alexandros Matsinopoulos was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The supporters of SK Fenerbahce Wien booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Barbier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olaf Anszczak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxime Durand having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Eike Hörtnagel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Durand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandros Matsinopoulos kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 27thth minute. Though ot was a great shot France's keeper Maxime Durand was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. SK Fenerbahce Wien's Ali Kaan Toydemir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camille Baume in the 30th minute of play. Maxime Durand didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexandros Matsinopoulos went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Ali Kaan Toydemir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Peletier, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. France's Maxime Durand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olaf Anszczak in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SK Fenerbahce Wien's Brage Thorbjørnsen got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 44 played minutes David Barbier shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for SK Fenerbahce Wien's Ali Kaan Toydemir to catch but David Barbier was lucky. It became 1-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Alexandros Matsinopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Maxime Durand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Peletier made a kick off. Frank Peletier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stefan Krause kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, SK Fenerbahce Wien's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Frank Peletier fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olaf Anszczak's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After 59th play minutes Alexandros Matsinopoulos shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Maxime Durand and just under the crossbar into goal. Ali Kaan Toydemir made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Frank Peletier sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute Alexandros Matsinopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Durand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 70 minutes of play, SK Fenerbahce Wien's Alexandros Matsinopoulos made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maxime Durand was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, SK Fenerbahce Wien's Ali Kaan Toydemir got control of the ball when Frank Peletier tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Alexandros Matsinopoulos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Quentin Beaux hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olaf Anszczak in the 79th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Quentin Beaux hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the game, France's Frank Peletier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ali Kaan Toydemir made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The audience was convinced that Alexandros Matsinopoulos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Maxime Durand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandros Matsinopoulos in the 92nd minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the France players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SK Fenerbahce Wien.
