Marioara Matei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mesut Özil, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. U21 Moldovas' Marioara Matei made a terrific save as he just managed to stop Eduardo Camavingas penalty just before it crossed the line at his left post. U21 Moldova were awarded a corner in the 98th minute after U21 Romania's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eduardo Camavinga took the corner. U21 Moldova's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
