An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 15th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins. But to his dismay, Alfredo Martins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 20th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when German Cano came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Marquês de Herval were awarded a corner. Pedro Luís da Rocha went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Pedro Luís da Rocha got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fodor Daniel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 31st minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th of the match, Alfredo Martins tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Fodor Daniel got in the way and made a wonderful save. The corner ended in Valentin Vizitiu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel did a great save. Marquês de Herval were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Hungary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pedro Luís da Rocha took the corner. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Alfredo Martins sent off a good shot on target. After 44 played minutes, Marquês de Herval's Selami Rezan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fodor Daniel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marquês de Herval reached it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antal Valentin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Alfredo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Hungary fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Hungary's Antal Valentin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 56th minute, Major Barna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Gao Xiang Guang charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gao Xiang Guang the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Hungary booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gao Xiang Guang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Antal Valentin could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Dida Taffarel however easily saved by the left post. Hegedus Henrik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Dida Taffarel made a huge save. With a little luck, Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. Dida Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 76th minute. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 92nd minute of the match. When Nestor Paraibano fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marquês de Herval's protests and gave Nestor Paraibano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Hungary booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dida Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Major Barna sent off a good shot on target. Hungary's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antal Valentin in the 96th minute. It was a well-played corner which Takacs Tibor managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The Marquês de Herval fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hungary were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
