Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ilija Skugor was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rolf Leslie showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hayden Laframboise, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The supporters of Toronto United booed when Croatia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Bosak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toronto United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Croatia the free kick. After 31 played minutes Toronto United got a freekick which was hit by Hayden Laframboise. The supporters of Toronto United booed when Croatia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvije Santek didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Hayden Laframboise managed to get in a good position for a shot. Toronto United's supporters rose to their feet, but Hayden Laframboise was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilija Skugor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toni Mauzer to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolf Leslie in the 54th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamin Domazet's late challenge caught a Toronto United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Toronto United reached it.
