The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Despidida AFC's Fernando Selatse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Bonet in the 5th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Despidida AFC's Toro Martínez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jo Øverås made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A sloppy throw-in by Justino Elequemedo in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Daustad's Mats Bentsen. Fernando Selatse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Bonet, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Luis Bonet kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Daustad's Luis Bonet got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Luis Bonet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernando Selatse was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Jo Øverås took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toro Martínez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jo Øverås made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toro Martínez in the 38th minute of play. Sigurd Storhaug kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes, Despidida AFC's Emanuel Lucila shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jo Øverås came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Despidida AFC reached it. In the 43rd minute, Arturo Arano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Daustad booed when Despidida AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justino Elequemedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Luis Bonet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Feliksas Fenichev hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Despidida AFC defense, Luis Bonet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Selatse. The Despidida AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Selatse should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Despidida AFC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Feliksas Fenichev hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute of the match, Czeslaw Kopacz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jo Øverås saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Daustad booed when Despidida AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Czeslaw Kopacz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peng Song Ting received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Fernando Selatse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Despidida AFC's Emanuel Lucila got a free kick in the 88th minute. Mats Bentsen struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Fernando Selatse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Daustad. 90 minutes into the game, Czeslaw Kopacz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jo Øverås. Czeslaw Kopacz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. Daustad's Jo Øverås proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Daustad from getting a goal against them. Despidida AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
