An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Damião in the 3rd minute of play forced Daustad's goalkeeper Jo Øverås to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Bentsen kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Jo Øverås made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Batistuta in the 8th minute of play. Mieszko Pilsudski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glenn Fyfe having to interfere. Jo Øverås showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from King Scorpio, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Iulian Berceanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A4p FC Gad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Daustad the free kick. After 13 played minutes A4p FC Gad got a freekick which was hit by Gez Mason. Glenn Fyfe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Bentsen in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Luis Bonet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. James Batistuta did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Jo Øverås 21 minutes into the match. Cătălin Răduleț made in the 25th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Iulian Berceanu however managed to control. 28 minutes into the match, Luis Bonet had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Glenn Fyfe. A4p FC Gad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Bonet was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When James Batistuta, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 35 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jo Øverås was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Jo Øverås took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from King Scorpio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Daustad booed when A4p FC Gad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gez Mason didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, A4p FC Gad's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Bonet came free, but Glenn Fyfe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute Luis Bonet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glenn Fyfe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as James Batistuta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jo Øverås. That made the score 2-1 in the 47 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luis Bonet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teofil Chrzan got free with Glenn Fyfe in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute Luis Bonet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glenn Fyfe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glenn Fyfe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Bonet in the 58th minute of play. Jo Øverås was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 71stth minute of the game Alessandro Del Piero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Daustad's Jo Øverås was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. James Batistuta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jo Øverås having to interfere. A4p FC Gad made a substitution. Flavius Cândroveanu spun around in front of the goal 78 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Daustad's goal. 79 minutes into the match, Daustad's goal looked a bit too open when Gică Busuioc came free, but Jo Øverås reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gică Busuioc in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jo Øverås saved Daustad from getting behind. Jo Øverås came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by A4p FC Gad's Gică Busuioc. But to his dismay, Gică Busuioc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 86th minute Luis Bonet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glenn Fyfe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Mats Bentsen got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Glenn Fyfe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 89th minute, Gică Busuioc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A4p FC Gad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. In the 98th minute King Scorpio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jo Øverås saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A4p FC Gad's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
