After some careless play in the HollywooDogs defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dedé Dionísio. The HollywooDogs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dedé Dionísio should have stopped the shot. Ronaldinho Lago hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, HollywooDogs's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Dedé Dionísio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dedé Dionísio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. HollywooDogs's Dedé Dionísio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 20th minute of play. Fabio Weidt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Reekers having to make a save. Dedé Dionísio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Eikelkamp in the 24th minute of the match. Dedé Dionísio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Ricardinho Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. HollywooDogs's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardinho Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Netherlands booed when HollywooDogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardinho Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardinho Alvarenga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardinho Alvarenga in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to HollywooDogs getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Renzo Ingelborgs hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in HollywooDogs's zone, Wim Wilmes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedé Dionísio came out of the goal and Wim Wilmes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardinho Alvarenga to make the kick off. A collision led to HollywooDogs getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Quintinus Veterini hit a great ball. A hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer from long distance, 59 minutes into the match, got Dedé Dionísio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. HollywooDogs made a substitution. Fred de Brito replaced Ştefan Văduva. In the 69th match minute, HollywooDogs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Zamboni to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 77th minute of play forced HollywooDogs's goalkeeper Dedé Dionísio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Kees Mooiweer in the 83rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by HollywooDogs's Renzo Ingelborgs. Dedé Dionísio made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Eikelkamp in the 90th minute. After 91 played minutes HollywooDogs got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Weidt. 93 minutes into the match, HollywooDogs's goalkeeper Dedé Dionísio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. In the 96th minute Lukasz Sidor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Netherlands players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
