Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Nils Liedholm IF's Ove Hake started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rune Nilsson in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rune Nilsson in the 4th minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rune Nilsson got free with Zvezdan Nedeljkovic in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Östen Olsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ove Hake in the 11th minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Nils Liedholm IF getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Östen Olsson hit a great ball. Serbia's Borjan Golubovic quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Martin Söderkvist, made in the 16th minute of the game. Nils Liedholm IF's Ove Hake got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Wiktor Blom sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute of the match Sreten Popovic shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bo-Erik Boklund showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sreten Popovic's late challenge caught a Nils Liedholm IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sreten Popovic helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 played minutes Serbia got a freekick which was hit by Sreten Popovic. 30 minutes into the match, Nils Liedholm IF's goal looked a bit too open when Sreten Popovic came free, but Bo-Erik Boklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kalle Norström made in the 37th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Rune Nilsson however managed to control. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ove Hake in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute Rune Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Serbia from getting a goal against them. If Sreten Popovic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sreten Popovic to make the kick off. If Sreten Popovic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ove Hake in the 62nd minute of the match. When Nils Liedholm IF's Ove Hake in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Serbia's goalie prevented a goal. Martin Söderkvist made in the 70th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Rune Nilsson however managed to control. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ove Hake in the 72nd minute of play. Sreten Popovic received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bo-Erik Boklund came out and tried to block the shot, but Sreten Popovic slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 77th minute. In the 81st minute Ove Hake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ove Hake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zvezdan Nedeljkovic having to interfere. Bo-Erik Boklund made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sreten Popovic in the 91st minute. Nils Liedholm IF's Zebastian Österlund got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 97th minute Ove Hake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
