Bertram Svenningsen struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Wiktor Juszkowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute Chris Nygaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wiktor Juszkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC LSG's zone, Chris Nygaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wiktor Juszkowski came out of the goal and Chris Nygaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wiktor Juszkowski was relentless in the 46th minute of the game.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chris Nygaard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mikkel Wulff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiktor Juszkowski having to interfere. The FC LSG fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Chris Nygaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Frankowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute.
