In the 4th minute, Pavol Koleno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 5 minutes into the match, The Beatles's Doru Lițu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henrich Slany narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Slovakia defense, Doru Lițu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henrich Slany. The Slovakia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henrich Slany should have stopped the shot. Doru Lițu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Henrich Slany 9 minutes into the match. Doru Lițu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Slovakia defense, Reinaldo Trancoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henrich Slany. The Slovakia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henrich Slany should have stopped the shot. Henrich Slany stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doru Lițu's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Takis Koutsos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Metod Mlynar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Doru Lițu put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Henrich Slany. Henrich Slany was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Evert Österlund capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Evert Österlund really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. Henrich Slany didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evert Österlund went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Slovakia's attentive Zigmund Maliar managed to snatch the ball when Denis Rondou made a throw-in in the 38th minute of the game. In the 42nd minute, Róbson Simões ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrich Slany was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. 47 minutes into the match, The Beatles's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Suchy came free, but Takis Koutsos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Doru Lițu to make the kick off. Henrich Slany made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doru Lițu in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Simões in the 56th minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Henrich Slany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Doru Lițu sped through Slovakia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Henrich Slany. After a defensive mix-up in Slovakia's zone, Denis Rondou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrich Slany came out of the goal and Denis Rondou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Henrich Slany didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evert Österlund went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 11-0 was the resulting score. Takis Koutsos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Metod Mlynar in the 77th minute of the match. Doru Lițu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrich Slany read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Reinaldo Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Beatles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reinaldo Trancoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Beatles made a substitution. Frederico Messias replaced Reinaldo Trancoso. The Beatles's Zeca Brodel was substituted for Doru Lițu. Henrich Slany made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Róbson Simões in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute Frederico Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrich Slany saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Beatles made a substitution. Arthur Simão replaced Elder Santos. If Frederico Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. The Beatles fully deserved thier win.
