The referee ignored Pauliström's protests and gave Max Hjortsberg a yellow card for diving instead. When David Barbier came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the France fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Barbier couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Peletier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Peletier got free with Emmanuil Kirillov in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ingvar Johansson might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxime Durand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ingvar Johansson ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Pauliström's Emmanuil Kirillov got control of the ball when Frank Peletier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emmanuil Kirillov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Peletier in the 60th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivar Björklund during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of France booed when Pauliström was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvar Johansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Peletier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Emmanuil Kirillov made a huge save. The supporters of Pauliström booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Robiquet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Folke Melin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maxime Durand read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. After 94 minutes France's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ivar Björklund who took care of the corner kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the France players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pauliström.
