The corner ended in Torbjörn Berg almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim did a great save. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Vuk Urgovski took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Wilson Amorim to make any attempt to save it. MOEBIO's Jan Fleszar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Portugal booed when MOEBIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Ur didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hao Fan Chuan to make the kick off.
