Major Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Varela having to interfere. Balazs Lajos hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lauro Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lauro Varela. Lauro Varela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agnaldo Vargas in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fodor Daniel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dudu Queiroz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After 32 minutes, Juvenal Novaes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Iguaçu MZFC and the Hungary players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal Novaes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Major Barna in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lauro Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lauro Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 minutes, Major Barna made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lauro Varela tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Caetano Pires got a free kick in the 40th minute. Antal Valentin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lauro Varela. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Iguaçu MZFC's zone, Major Barna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauro Varela came out of the goal and Major Barna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hegedus Henrik didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match Gilmar Donato sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fodor Daniel skillfully saved the ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC made a substitution. Deivid Queirós replaced Dudu Queiroz. After 62 minutes Nova Iguaçu MZFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antal Valentin who took care of the corner kick. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Vargas in the 66th minute of play. When Diego Cerezo came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Cerezo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo Vargas in the 68th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lauro Varela got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Antal Valentin made a precise shot to the right of Lauro Varela. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The supporters of Hungary booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Lauro Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. Hungary's Major Barna got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antal Valentin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Agnaldo Vargas in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hungary's goalie prevented a goal. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Vargas in the 94th minute of play.
