Faustino Almeida scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aldo Beltxe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Portugal's attentive Daniel Pimentel managed to snatch the ball when Martin Bieito made a throw-in in the 35th minute of the game.
