Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yu Hong Feng prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Los Galacticos's Yu Hong Feng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 11th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pang Xing Lang kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Los Galacticos booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kees Mooiweer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Brejnebøl, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 26 minutes Los Galacticos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Lars Meesters fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yu Hong Feng quite easily take care of the ball. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Galacticos's goalkeeper Yu Hong Feng, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peng Feng Yi kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wu Mo in the 51st minute of the match. With a little luck, Los Galacticos's Yu Hong Feng got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yu Hong Feng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Yu Hong Feng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yu Hong Feng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Los Galacticos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Bas Tuitert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes Los Galacticos got a freekick which was hit by Fang Sha Lang. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yu Hong Feng read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play.
