Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Loco Buffon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 24th minute of play forced Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goalkeeper Loco Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jyrki Sillanpää got free with Arnout Reekers in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 33 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Loco Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Los Hijos de Doña Beija defense, Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Loco Buffon. In the 89th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Loco Buffon got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Loco Buffon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Netherlands players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
