After some careless play in the Minotauro defense, Liu Chao Xiao kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Guimarães. The Minotauro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Guimarães should have stopped the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Minotauro's goal looked a bit too open when Liu Chao Xiao came free, but João Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Club 23 defense, Claudinei Brito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Remus Vuia. The Club 23 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remus Vuia should have stopped the shot. If Liu Chao Xiao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liu Chao Xiao in the 19th minute of play. If Ragnar Lönn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ragnar Lönn, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Liu Chao Xiao sped through Minotauro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Guimarães. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Liu Chao Xiao put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of João Guimarães. 45 minutes into the match, Liu Chao Xiao notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Minotauro's João Guimarães. João Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Liu Chao Xiao stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ragnar Lönn struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Dacian Săraru replaced Druțu Daniel. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Minotauro's goalkeeper João Guimarães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 68th minute Liu Chao Xiao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Liu Chao Xiao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Club 23's zone, Eliseu Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remus Vuia came out of the goal and Eliseu Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remus Vuia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Brito in the 75th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Claudinei Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remus Vuia was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Aron Chițes struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. João Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club 23. Ragnar Lönn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. João Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Aron Chițes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Guimarães. Aron Chițes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-8.
