In the 10th minute of the match ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a corner. Los Muchachos del 86's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Esteban Iztal ran over to the corner to take the kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Francis couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski got control of the ball when Saverio Brion tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Miguel Prosperi sped through Los Muchachos del 86's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Atahan Balon. Los Muchachos del 86's Atahan Balon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Francis in the 37th minute of play. Atahan Balon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 38th minute of the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saverio Brion to make the kick off. Los Muchachos del 86's Atahan Balon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Francis in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute Albino Peruanton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Branislav Velchevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atahan Balon came out of the goal and Miguel Prosperi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 60 minutes into the match, Elpidio Francis notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Los Muchachos del 86's Atahan Balon. Atahan Balon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo-Enrique Bochini in the 64th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 66th minute of the game. One of Los Muchachos del 86:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA:s goal. If Elpidio Francis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Elpidio Francis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Atahan Balon made a huge save. In the 70thth minute of the game Elpidio Francis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Muchachos del 86's Atahan Balon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Los Muchachos del 86 defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Atahan Balon. The Los Muchachos del 86 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Atahan Balon should have stopped the shot. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Arnaldo Gabon was substituted for Miguel Prosperi. After a rather tough play, Los Muchachos del 86's Szymon Szkaradek got a free kick in the 75th minute. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elpidio Francis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Atahan Balon made a huge save. 79 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Atahan Balon. That made the score 0-7 after 81 minutes of play. Elpidio Francis might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Atahan Balon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elpidio Francis ran back to his position shaking his head. Los Muchachos del 86's Atahan Balon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Los Muchachos del 86 from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
