Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) France's Frank Peletier started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Pagomari came free, but Maxime Durand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 4th minute of the match Mayo got a corner. France's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Samuel Farmer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alexander Bird didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Barbier went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of France booed when Mayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ben Gurney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steve Oliver who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Maxime Durand when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Maxime Durand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steve Oliver in the 20th minute. The Mayo fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Mayo's Steve Oliver looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guido Pagomari's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After 35 played minutes France got a freekick which was hit by Camille Baume. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guido Pagomari in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maxime Durand saved France from getting behind. A collision led to Mayo getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Nathanial Pitts hit a great ball. France's Frank Peletier got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maxime Durand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Pagomari, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Steve Olivers short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Maxime Durand to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alexis Bruneau hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Maxime Durand stood somewhat misplaced when Steve Oliver came free in front of goal and shot 3-1 to the left of him in the 46 minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guido Pagomari was the one to do the kick off. Remy Dupuy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Bird having to interfere. A collision led to Mayo getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Glyn Smith hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Alexander Bird successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The corner led France's Henry Robiquet to fire away a dangerous shot which Alexander Bird despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 64th minute Remy Dupuy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Bird saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mayo's Alexander Bird proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Mayo from getting a goal against them. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guido Pagomari's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Maxime Durand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steve Oliver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steve Oliver scored 4-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maxime Durand, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mayo made a substitution. Alex Burton replaced Guido Pagomari. After 81 minutes, Alex Burton made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. France's Maxime Durand tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Des Gill in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxime Durand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maxime Durand came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Mayo's Des Gill. But to his dismay, Des Gill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. In the 90th minute, Des Gill made a precise shot to the right of Maxime Durand. France's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. The supporters of France booed when Mayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Miliano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute Alex Burton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Durand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
