A collision led to General Velásquez getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Marciano Gibson hit a great ball. If Fabio Schneider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Tuñon in the 7th minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Fabio Auer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Leandro Pfingsthorn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabio Auer was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, Austria's Rafael Riedl got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 16th minute, Marvin Harrer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 17 minutes, Fabio Schneider managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Austria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabio Schneider was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henry Tucknott showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Schneider in the 19th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Estevan Camilo during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th match minute, General Velásquez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Estevan Camilo to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Riedl hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The long shot by Alonso Macera in the 27th minute really tested Fabio Auer's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Leandro Pfingsthorn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Austria booed when General Velásquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonso Macera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabio Auer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leandro Pfingsthorn in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute, Leandro Pfingsthorn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandro Galishoff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Austria were awarded a corner. Sandro Galishoff went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Sandro Galishoff almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott did a great save. The supporters of General Velásquez booed when Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marvin Harrer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leandro Pfingsthorn blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Auer having to make a save. After some careless play in the Austria defense, Leandro Pfingsthorn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabio Auer. The Austria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Auer should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Austria's Marc Kronecker got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Fabio Auer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apolo Irigoyen in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute Guntademaro Goyenechea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Auer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When General Velásquez's Apolo Irigoyen in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Austria's goalie prevented a goal. If Guntademaro Goyenechea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Estebano Fedeghelli hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. If Fabio Schneider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Austria's Marc Kronecker quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Estebano Fedeghelli, made in the 87th minute of the game. Fabio Auer came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by General Velásquez's Apolo Irigoyen. But to his dismay, Apolo Irigoyen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Apolo Irigoyen struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Fabio Auer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for General Velásquez. There was no doubt that General Velásquez were the better team. General Velásquez's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
