Alexander Higgins made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 30th minute, Robert McNeill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eedi Karuauk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Higgins having to interfere. After some careless play in the Scotland defense, Long Chong Shi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. The Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexander Higgins should have stopped the shot. Long Chong Shi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexander Higgins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Alexander Higgins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eedi Karuauk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Scotland defense, Ahmet Gündüz Saner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. Scotland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 14-0. Zula Jaks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 played minutes Scotland got a freekick which was hit by Robert McNeill.
