When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Ali Vedat Ongul put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Zikri Erincer. In the 6th minute Ali Vedat Ongul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zikri Erincer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Platingucu SK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! In the 18th minute, Akay Özalpman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ender Turcan struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Zikri Erincer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Gwann Birlik. In the 27th minute of the match Platingucu SK got a corner. San Gwann Birlik's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bekir Dağhan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Platingucu SK's Bekir Dağhan to fire away a dangerous shot which Samim Esentürk despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Zikri Erincer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aycan Tosun in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Özbek Settar in the 38th minute of play forced San Gwann Birlik's goalkeeper Samim Esentürk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th match minute, San Gwann Birlik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aycan Tosun to maneuver through the defense. Tuncer Polatalp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Samim Esentürk made a huge save. Platingucu SK's Baran Bilge Ergunalp got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Platingucu SK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Gwann Birlik were winning 0-2.

After 54 played minutes San Gwann Birlik got a freekick which was hit by Baran Çanak. 55 minutes into the match, Bekir Dağhan notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of San Gwann Birlik's Samim Esentürk. Samim Esentürk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Akay Özalpman was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 61 minutes into the match. After having played for 65 minutes, Aycan Tosun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Gwann Birlik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aycan Tosun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zikri Erincer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wasyl Cwynar in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute, San Gwann Birlik's Mariusz Kocieniewski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zikri Erincer. Zikri Erincer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. After a rather tough play, San Gwann Birlik's Wasyl Cwynar got a free kick in the 74th minute. Mariusz Kocieniewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zikri Erincer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gazanfer Özcan Kutalmış, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San Gwann Birlik played a much better game than Platingucu SK and deserved their victory. The Platingucu SK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
