Luizinho Veiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Genílson Pontes having to make a save. Avelinos's Genílson Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu Guedes in the 12th minute of play. Romeu Guedes came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Genílson Pontes could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Avelinos's Tiago Gabriel Castro got a free kick in the 14th minute. Ypiranga FC's Romeu Guedes got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeu Guedes in the 17th minute of play forced Avelinos's goalkeeper Genílson Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Avelinos's goalkeeper Genílson Pontes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sílvio Luís Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Poul Knoblauch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genílson Pontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeu Guedes in the 23rd minute of the match. Genílson Pontes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luizinho Veiga went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The Ypiranga FC fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Ypiranga FC's Luizinho Veiga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 32nd minute, Ypiranga FC's José Furlan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Genílson Pontes. Genílson Pontes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. Genílson Pontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho Veiga in the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Luisão Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avelinos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisão Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dida Loureiro hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Genílson Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeu Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. José Furlan succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 6-0 in the 47th playminute.

Genílson Pontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Leonel Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Genílson Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho Veiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 62 minutes into the game, João Francisco Guedes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avelinos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ypiranga FC the free kick. João Francisco Guedes hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 63rdth minute of the game Romeu Guedes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Avelinos's Genílson Pontes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute José Furlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Avelinos's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Veiga came free, but Genílson Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genílson Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Avelinos defense, Romeu Guedes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Genílson Pontes. The Avelinos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genílson Pontes should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizinho Veiga in the 73rd minute of play forced Avelinos's goalkeeper Genílson Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Poul Knoblauch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 75th minute Luisão Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Poul Knoblauch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Romeu Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Avelinos's Genílson Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu Guedes in the 84th minute of play. Romeu Guedes took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Genílson Pontes. Genílson Pontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ypiranga FC fully deserved thier win.
