The audience was convinced that Laércio de Andrade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hias Nüssli was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Hias Nüssli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Internacional's Ysmael Abad got a free kick in the 45th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Laércio de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Internacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio de Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hias Nüssli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Samuele Kunz was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Samuele Kunz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Switzerland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laércio de Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laércio de Andrade in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hias Nüssli saved Switzerland from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laércio de Andrade in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hias Nüssli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by 程烨瑜 in the 81st minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84thth minute of the game Laércio de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Switzerland's Hias Nüssli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Internacional's Laércio de Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hias Nüssli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hias Nüssli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laércio de Andrade went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 11-0 was the resulting score. Gustav Iseli kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Laércio de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Internacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laércio de Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hias Nüssli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio de Andrade in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Switzerland players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Internacional.
