Henrich Slany stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gergin Smilevski's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. A collision led to Slovakia getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Vavrinec Koleno hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Metod Mlynar. In the 17th minute of the match Violet Vrúblyanski sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henrich Slany skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Slovakia booed when Цървена звезда was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragolyub Karabonev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrich Slany came out of the goal and Dragolyub Karabonev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The throw-in from Neno Partalin in the 28th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Slovakia's Oliver Holub. A hard shot 34 in the game by Dobri Pipkov from a close distance when the talented Henrich Slany managed to make a qualified save. Slovakia's players were relieved. Dobri Pipkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Henrich Slany made a huge save. Henrich Slany was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dobri Pipkov showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 37 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Slovakia's zone, Gergin Smilevski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrich Slany came out of the goal and Gergin Smilevski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when Gergin Smilevski came free, but Henrich Slany reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Slovakia's Zigmund Maliar got a free kick in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gergin Smilevski to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Dobri Pipkov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Цървена звезда's supporters rose to their feet, but Dobri Pipkov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrich Slany breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dobri Pipkov in the 56th minute of play. Metod Mlynar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Zapryan Sachanski made a huge save. After 63rd play minutes Dobri Pipkov shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Henrich Slany and just under the crossbar into goal. Henrich Slany didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gergin Smilevski went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. If Dobri Pipkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dragolyub Karabonev might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrich Slany. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dragolyub Karabonev ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute Gergin Smilevski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrich Slany saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Dobri Pipkov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Цървена звезда fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 93 minutes into the game, Цървена звезда's Zhivko Tekerlekov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henrich Slany made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dobri Pipkov in the 97th minute of play.
