Ares FC -MM- were furious when Cătălin Şoiman was red carded, 4 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Ronnys Lärjungar booed when Ares FC -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cătălin Şoiman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ares FC -MM-'s zone, Karl Grep stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horia Hulubei came out of the goal and Karl Grep tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kjell-Arne Skott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 minutes, Elof Gustavsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ronnys Lärjungar and the Ares FC -MM- players grew even worse after the yellow card. Horia Hulubei was a little too slow when Tommy Beck got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. With a little luck, Ares FC -MM-'s Horia Hulubei got control of the ball when Patrik Ahlrot tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Virgil Turceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Ares FC -MM-'s Virgil Turceanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolf Arvidsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ares FC -MM-'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lucrețiu Gologan in the 36th minute. The corner ended in Dorin Iovulescu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ronnys Lärjungar's Rolf Arvidsson did a great save. When Arnold Sur fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ronnys Lärjungar's protests and gave Arnold Sur a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ares FC -MM- booed when Ronnys Lärjungar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnold Sur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octavian Arseanu hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Karl Grep took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Horia Hulubei. Ares FC -MM-'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Virgil Turceanu to make the kick off. Rolf Arvidsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgil Turceanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Ronnys Lärjungar's Rolf Arvidsson got control of the ball when Virgil Turceanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. George Esbjörnsson replaced Claes Palmkvist. Ares FC -MM-'s Horia Hulubei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Ahlrot in the 62nd minute of play. Kjell-Arne Skott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 67th minute, Patrik Ahlrot ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horia Hulubei was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 72nd minute, Octavian Arseanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th match minute, Ronnys Lärjungar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrik Ahlrot to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ronnys Lärjungar booed when Ares FC -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionel Petran didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Virgil Turceanu came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Ares FC -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgil Turceanu couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the game, Lucrețiu Gologan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ares FC -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ronnys Lärjungar the free kick.
