Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 10 minutes into the game, Alexandru Urseanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BlueLionesse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kurdistan the free kick. Alexandru Urseanu hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 11th match minute, BlueLionesse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petruț Oanță to maneuver through the defense. Andrei Azamfirei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Napoleon Bonjour in the 12th minute. Nicolae Bordeanu took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mats Elg. Mats Elg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 18th minute Nicolae Bordeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Elg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, FC Kurdistan's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolae Bordeanu came free, but Mats Elg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfred Nobel lost his temper 25 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Kurdistan! A collision led to FC Kurdistan getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Christian Wik hit a great ball. Andrei Azamfirei was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Jari Litmanen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jari Litmanen really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Mats Elg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Murgoci, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. BlueLionesse's Andrei Azamfirei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save BlueLionesse from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Murgoci in the 39th minute of play forced FC Kurdistan's goalkeeper Mats Elg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Elg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolae Bordeanu in the 40th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the game, Alex Murgoci cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Mats Elg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 47 minutes of play, BlueLionesse's Dacian Fetea made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mats Elg was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half BlueLionesse were leading 2-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Alex Murgoci kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Kurdistan getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Napoleon Bonjour hit a great ball. Mats Elg made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Nicolae Bordeanu sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in FC Kurdistan's zone, Alex Murgoci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mats Elg came out of the goal and Alex Murgoci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Kurdistan's Allan Isaksson was substituted for Sture Botvidsson. In the 65th minute of the match, Nicolae Bordeanu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mats Elg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Alfons Öberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Andrei Azamfirei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to BlueLionesse getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Irinel Gheondea hit a great ball. Mats Elg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Murgoci, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st match minute, BlueLionesse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolae Bordeanu to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute Napoleon Bonjour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Azamfirei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Allan Isaksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mats Elg acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 86th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Irinel Gheondea. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Odobescu in the 87th minute of play forced FC Kurdistan's goalkeeper Mats Elg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Elg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dacian Fetea in the 89th minute. After a rather tough play, BlueLionesse's Leontin Pătrășconiu got a free kick in the 94th minute. When Christian Nyman came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the FC Kurdistan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Nyman couldn't finish the play.

The BlueLionesse players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
