After a rather tough play, France's Camille Baume got a free kick in the 6th minute. 8 minutes into the game, Castanheiro SC's José Pedro Carneiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maxime Durand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredo Stefano got free with Maxime Durand in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfredo Stefano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 18th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredo Stefano got free with Maxime Durand in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner led to Castanheiro SC's José Pedro Carneiro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 27 minutes of play, Castanheiro SC's Alfredo Stefano made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maxime Durand was left in no man's land by his defense there! 31 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Stefano came free, but Maxime Durand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo Stefano's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Alfredo Stefano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanheiro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredo Stefano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maxime Durand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maxime Durand made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Alfredo Stefano sent off a good shot on target. Alfredo Stefano might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxime Durand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredo Stefano ran back to his position shaking his head. France's Maxime Durand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Stefano in the 42nd minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Castanheiro SC's Hélder Schmidt was substituted for Shi Cheng Chao. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Stefano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 90th match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Robiquet to maneuver through the defense. The Castanheiro SC fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Castanheiro SC's Alfredo Stefano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. For all the effort they put into the match, the France players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Castanheiro SC.
