The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tavo Imelik didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 4th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Tavo Imelik guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 10 minutes, Bartolomeo Heinlein mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sydney FC and the Harkujärve JK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Bartolomeo Heinlein got a free kick in the 10th minute. Axel Ballhaus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rein Ess, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. A hard shot 17 in the game by Thorben Rittmann from a close distance when the talented Tavo Imelik managed to make a qualified save. Harkujärve JK's players were relieved. If Rein Ess had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thorben Rittmann in the 21st minute of play forced Harkujärve JK's goalkeeper Tavo Imelik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney FC's Thorben Rittmann was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 25th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Thorben Rittmanns short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Tavo Imelik to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bartolomeo Heinlein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tavo Imelik was a little too slow when Thorben Rittmann got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 4-0. Bartolomeo Heinlein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tavo Imelik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thorben Rittmann in the 40th minute. Thorben Rittmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tavo Imelik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thorben Rittmann ran back to his position shaking his head. Thorben Rittmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Tavo Imelik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bartolomeo Heinlein kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Thorben Rittmann made the kick off in the second half. Harkujärve JK's Tavo Imelik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thorben Rittmann in the 56th minute of play. In the 59thth minute of the game Thorben Rittmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Harkujärve JK's Tavo Imelik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thorben Rittmann in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tavo Imelik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adnan Tilner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rein Ess fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Axel Ballhaus having to interfere. Adnan Tilner hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Tavo Imelik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thorben Rittmann's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. In the 98th minute of the match Constantin Ehrgott shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tavo Imelik showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sydney FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Harkujärve JK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
