Aristide Fetea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peycho Bratovanov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristide Fetea in the 10th minute of play. Spas Tzolovski might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moise Ţurlău. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Spas Tzolovski ran back to his position shaking his head. If Adam Dzhurkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moise Ţurlău showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Slavcho Smilov, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Spas Tzolovski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Moise Ţurlău. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Spas Tzolovski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 31 minutes into the match, VN Ultra Spartak's goal looked a bit too open when Codruț Macaneață came free, but Peycho Bratovanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Spas Tzolovski in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Moise Ţurlău saved PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca from getting behind. Vitomir Stoin took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Moise Ţurlău. Moise Ţurlău dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. If Radu Cigu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Codruț Macaneață could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Peycho Bratovanov made a huge save. Peycho Bratovanov made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Codruț Macaneață sent off a good shot on target. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aristide Fetea made a kick off. Vitomir Stoin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Moise Ţurlău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, VN Ultra Spartak's goal looked a bit too open when Silver Phoenix came free, but Peycho Bratovanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute of the match PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a corner. VN Ultra Spartak's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sebastian Culcer ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Silver Phoenix got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Aristide Fetea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of VN Ultra Spartak:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca:s goal. VN Ultra Spartak:s Peycho Bratovanov showed great skill when he stopped Sebastian Culcer:s penalty. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after VN Ultra Spartak's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sebastian Culcer took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Sebastian Culcer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Peycho Bratovanov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Aristide Fetea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peycho Bratovanov having to interfere. Peycho Bratovanov came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Aristide Fetea. But to his dismay, Aristide Fetea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Marcu Tudor got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute Vitomir Stoin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moise Ţurlău saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Dzhurkov struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Moise Ţurlău didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VN Ultra Spartak. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when VN Ultra Spartak was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valkan Pelov didn't get a good kick on the ball. The VN Ultra Spartak players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
